After months of preparation and anticipation, my TEDx Talk – Purpose: The Power to Rise Again – is now live.
Standing on the TEDx red circle stage was one of the most personal moments of my entrepreneurial journey. I’ve spoken at many events over the years, but this was different as I was sharing a part of my story that has shaped who I am today.
My Story
Twenty years ago, I lost almost everything I had worked for. At the time, I couldn’t see it, but that experience became a turning point and helped me understand the importance of having a clear sense of purpose. Purpose became my anchor. It helped me rebuild, overcome self-doubt and look at success in a very different way.

The Power to Rise Again
I also talk about failure, self-doubt and imposter syndrome because they are things most of us experience at some point, particularly when we are trying to build something, lead others or make a significant change in our lives.
The setbacks I’ve faced taught me lessons that success never could. They made me more resilient and changed the way I think about business, leadership and life.
The message I wanted to share is a simple one: your past doesn’t have to define your future.
Now It’s Live
For a long time, the talk existed in my head, on paper and in rehearsals. Now it’s out there and that’s an exciting feeling.
I have no idea who will watch it, where it will reach or which part of the story might resonate with someone but if one person watches it and finds the courage to get back up after a setback, rediscover their purpose or take the first step towards something better, then all those hours of preparation will have been worthwhile.
That’s what I hope for. Not simply that people watch the talk, but that it makes them stop and think about their own lives.
What’s Next
For me, the TEDx Talk isn’t really the end of the journey. In many ways, it’s the start of the next one. One where the conversation keeps going.
I want to talk to more people about purpose, resilience, failure and what it takes to rebuild when things don’t go to plan. I want to hear other people’s stories and learn from their experiences too.
